A Treasured Locket

Ever since my daughter, Adriana was little, she’s been wanting a locket and I’ve been wanting to give her one. I wanted to wait, however, until she was older and when I knew that she would be more likely to take care of it. I knew that if it were important enough to her, she would treasure it like she treasures those letters and pictures that she has in her memory box. I think the time is now.

Adriana’s birthday is October 7. I was hoping to get this locket by then and although it was delivered a week later, it was well worth it. When I first ordered her locket, I looked around on picturesongold.com and was so amazed at the variety and the beauty of the lockets that they produce. Adriana’s locket is silver, but they also have gold lockets.

I didn’t know that a person could have the photo of their choice engraved. I always thought that pictures were cut-to-size and placed inside the lockets by hand. It can still be done that way, but having a photo engraved will protect the photo from water. That’s why I chose my photo to be done that way.

I love that the lockets can be custom-made to our specifications. Whether we want writing on the front or the back, it’s up to us. They can even be monogrammed. They have lockets for men (I didn’t know men wore lockets), women, and children. But that’s not all.

They also have charms, locket rings, and watches. I saw some cool MP3 watches. Well, there’s a first time for everything. You should see the selection they have. There’s a lot to see.

On the back of Adriana's locket is her name and then it says,
"I love you so very much
Love Forever and always
Mommy".

My daughter loves her locket. I don’t know how many times she has said how pretty it is. I don’t have a chain for it yet, but I do have some pictures that I was able to take with my webcam. I’m so thankful that I was able to get this locket for her. When I told her that I was expecting something in the mail, she wanted me to tell her. She tried to guess. She asked if it was candy, chocolate, boys (she’s silly like that and she’s boy crazy).

Well, Adriana wasn’t expecting it to be what it turned out to be and because she loves surprises, she was thrilled with this one.

The workmanship and the quality of this locket surpassed my expectations, which weren’t really that high to begin with. What a beautiful gift for my beautiful daughter. I know she will treasure her locket. We are both very grateful.

Edited to add: This framed picture is just something I did to enhance the locket. Just a little photo imaging fun. The locket is on a cloth that came with it. The company’s address was already on the cloth. The “thank you” is for the company, PicturesOnGold for my daughter’s beautiful locket.
